Workshops

General Information

The Introductory level is broadly-based. It teaches the basics of how and when to hypnotize, as well as deepening and alerting techniques. Several inductions are taught so that those trained have some choice of induction techniques – not every induction works on every person. An important part of the workshop is the supervised clinical practice that occurs within a friendly, supportive small group.

Other aspects of this workshop involve discussions of ethics specific to hypnosis, treatment planning considerations, the myths and misconceptions associated with hypnosis, some brief history of the subject and several other matters.

The Intermediate workshops are more specific than the introductory workshops and teach more focused applications of hypnosis. We encourage those who have taken the introductory program to take at least one intermediate program. This provides the student with a chance to practice under supervision skills they have just begun to use within their practices. These workshops are an excellent way to sharpen your skills as a hypnotist.

Advanced workshops deal with more specific and complex topics (e.g., pain management, depression, etc.), and presume competence in the mechanics of hypnosis. They may sometimes feature supervised practice but are more likely to be didactic.
